A MAN died in hospital after the motorcycle he was riding hit a concrete block.

The accident happened at around 8.40pm on Tuesday night just before the Iwade slip road on the Sittingbourne-bound carriageway of the A249.

The 29-year-old victim, who was from Sittingbourne, was on a Kawasaki motorcycle that was in collision with a concrete block at the end of the crash barrier. He was pronounced dead at Medway Maritime Hospital.

The road was closed at the Kemley slip road and reopened at 1am.
