A man killed in a crash on the A229 in Thanet had been due to get married.

Tributes have been paid to Michael Alec Humphries, 33, was killed at the scene of a crash in Cliffsend on March 26.

His family say he will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.

In a statement they said: "Michael was soon to be married to Maria Hayley Carlton and they had just moved back to be closer to family in Ramsgate with their dog Ziggy.

"Michael was a devoted, loyal and loving fiancé, son, brother, uncle and true friend to anyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

"He was passionate about the things in life he enjoyed which were, spending time with family, comic book superheroes (especially Batman), music, riding his motor-cross bike on and off-road and mountain biking and exploring outdoors with Maria and Ziggy.

"He was highly skilled in electro-mechanical engineering and loved tinkering in his workshop finding new ways to make something out of nothing and restore anything that was broken or neglected.

"He would help anyone in need regardless of his own health and was always there to support his family through difficult times brightening up each day with his quick wit and unique sense of humour.

"With Mike there was never a dull moment and his presence will be sorely missed by all who knew him and the memories he made will be treasured forever."

Officers from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are continuing to investigate the collision which took place at 1.51pm between the Sevenscore roundabout and the tunnel going under Foads Lane.

A red Honda 250 motorcycle ridden by Mr Humphries, which was travelling in the Ramsgate direction, was involved in a collision with a central reservation barrier.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who has not yet spoken to police and may have seen the motorcycle before the collision, or have dashcam footage.
