Biker seriously injured in Appledore ditch crash

A motorcyslist suffered serious injuries when he came off his machine in Appledore.

The 54-year-old, from Dartford, ended up in a water-filled ditch beside Military Road on Sunday.

He was flown by air ambulance to Kings College Hospital, London. His injuries are serious, but not thought to be life-threatening.

The crash happened at 9.45am, a quarter-of-a mile from Appledore towards Rye.

No other vehicles were involved.

The road was closed until 2.20pm while emergency services dealt with the crash.
