Blackout striker back in training

STRIKER Jay Bothroyd is back at Charlton's training ground after the blackout that caused him to crash his car.

The 23-year-old lost consciousness at the whell and crashed into a small wooden post and spent this week undergoing tests.

He said: "I'm feeling alright now. I only remember bits of it. I don't remember how the car came to a stop."

Despite newspaper reports that he had been arrested for driving while under the influence of drugs, Bothroyd said: "I've had a few tests back, for drugs and alcohol, and they've all come back negative.

"The tabloids are looking for a story all the time. They want to catch Premiership footballers doing something wrong, but the facts are that this could have happened to anybody."
