A HUGE fire broke out in east London close to where the main stadium for the London Olympics will be built.
About 75 firefighters tackled the fire which created a huge plume of black smoke that could be seen across the city's skyline and even in parts of Kent.
The London Fire Brigade were called at about noon on Monday to reports of a fire at a disused warehouse in Waterden Road, Hackney Wick, near Stratford.
The warehouse is on the western edge of the proposed site of the Olympic Village and was set to be demolished in the next few months.
The blaze disrupted rail services and road traffic. London Ambulance Service said there are no reports of any casualties.
The blaze was close to the Channel Tunnel high speed rail link, but Eurostar has said the fire did not having an impact on services.
