THIEVES broke into a car and stole a DVD player belonging to a disabled boy who watches it on the way to hospital.

Four-year-old Jamie Bell , who is registered blind, has a rare eye condition which means he has no sight in his left eye, and limited sight in his right eye.

He suffers from a skin condition which also affects his brain and has severe epilepsy.

Jamie, who lives in Aylesford, has to make frequent trips to London for medical treatment. On the journey he loves to watch children’s programmes on his portable DVD player.

But on March 31, Jamie’s dad, Robert Bell, found the rear window of the car smashed and the DVD player taken.

His mother, Judith Broomfield said: "I can't say what I feel abut the people that did this. There is a sticker on the car which says 'disabled kid on board' so they knew they were taking it from a disabled child.

“Jamie has nothing to do in the car on the trips to hospital, he can’t really see out of the window and his DVD player kept him busy.

"With everything that Jamie has been through and now this. He's a lovely little boy, a child in a million."
