A driver caught using their phone at the wheel tried to give false details to the police - but gave themselves away with a date-of-birth blunder.

The motorist, pulled over by Kent Police today, claimed they were born on the 30th ... of FEBRUARY.

Police quickly spotted the error - and said it made it easier to spot the rest of the false details.

Kent Police Roads tweeted the picture today and urged other drivers not to use their phones at the wheel.
