The owner of a boat which went up in flames on Sunday night, managed to stop the fire from spreading to other boats by towing it and running it aground.

Strood firefighters were called to Hoo Marina just after 8pm after a fire broke out in the kitchen area of the boat.

Crews spent almost two hours tackling the blaze.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
