DIVERS have discovered the body of a father-of-two who went missing after a canoeing accident on a Scottish loch.

Ian Law, 55, of Abbey Road, Strood, had been enjoying a holiday with his brother when tragedy struck.

Their canoe capsized about 50ft from the shore in Loch Mhor in the Highlands on Tuesday and it is thought Mr Law suffered a heart attack as he fell into the water.

Mr Law, who is originally from Scotland, had lived in Medway for more than 30 year. His brother Eric, 57, who lives near the loch, scrambled ashore and raised the alarm.

A land and sea search was launched but called off late on Tuesday night because of poor visibility.

The help of divers from the Grampian Police Underwater Search Unit was called in on Thursday and a body was found at around 7.40pm that evening. It was confirmed as Mr Law on Friday.

He leaves a wife, Diane, and two children, Craig and Carla.

In a statement released through the Northern Constabulary the family said: "He was the family's rock, someone who was always there for you."
