The body of a middle-aged man has been pulled from the mud at Faversham Creek.

Police revealed on Tuesday that they were called just after 11am on Sunday after reports that a body had been seen lying in the mud.

Officers worked with firefighters and ambulance crews at the scene.

Police spokeswoman Helen Bell said: "Inquiries into the man's identity are ongoing.

"His death is not thought at this stage to be suspicious."
