Police have confirmed that the body of a woman found in Herefordshire is that of a missing woman.

Caroline Rickards, 47, from Old Wives Lees, near Chilham, was reported missing last Tuesday.

Kent officers conducting a missing person hunt worked with officers from West Mercia Police after lines of inquiry started to emerge in Herefordshire.

The body of a woman was discovered on Thursday afternoon during a search of the Queenswood Country Park visitor centre near Leominster.

Formal identification and a post mortem examination on Friday confirmed it was Caroline Rickards.

Police are not treating her death as suspicious.
