A man's body has been recovered by Medway Coastguard from the River Medway this morning.

Emergency services were called out last night after reports that a man in his mid 30s had jumped from Rochester Bridge into the River Medway.

A search team including an RAF Sea King from RAF Wattisham in Suffolk, Sheerness in-shore life-boat and Medway Coastguard spent three hours at the scene

A body was spotted by a member of the public at 8.30am today opposite The Esplanade. It has since been recovered.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
