KENT Police have confirmed the identity of a man found in the River Medway near Gas House Road, Rochester, as that of missing Sittingbourne man Andrew Owen.

The 24-year-old’s body was found at around 10.30am on Monday.

Mr Owen was last seen on Saturday, January 12, at around 6.45pm at the Red Lion public house in Sittingbourne High Street.

A post mortem is due to be held later this week. Police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his disappearance.

Mr Owen's mother, Marilyn, has previously said the loss of his father was the only reason she could think of for her son's sudden disappearance.
