A 58-year-old woman missing from her home since mid-December has been found dead.

Walkers found the body of Sandra Barratt at the Pegwell Bay nature reserve near Ramsgate.

Ms Barratt, from Alexandra Road, Ramsgate, has been formally identified and her next of kin informed.

Kent Police say was due to meet a friend on Friday, December 16 but never arrived.

Ms Barratt had lived in Ibiza for two-and-a-half years but recently returned to the UK after breaking up with her partner. Her body was discovered on December 23.

Police are not treating her death as suspicious. A post-mortem has been carried out.
