POLICE say a woman whose body was recovered from the River Medway was aged 91 and from Rochester.
Officers were called to The Esplanade at Rochester shortly after 10am on Thursday after a member of the public saw the woman climbing through railings.
The pensioner's body was recovered from the river a short time later. The death is not being treated as suspicious.
The woman has not yet been named by police but members of her family have been informed.
The coroner's officer has been notified and a post mortem is due to be conducted at the start of next week.
