Bomb squad called in after hand grenade find

AN UNEXPLODED hand grenade has been found in a back garden.

Bomb squad officers were called to Homestead Road, Orpington, just before 5.20pm on Wednesday to remove the Second World War device.

The area was cordoned off but not evacuated.

A police spokesman said the device was found at the end of a very long garden.
