BROMLEY's first oncology dietician has been appointed to work exclusively with cancer patients.

Keynes Chan, funded by Macmillan Cancer Support charity, will offer advice, information and support for all patients facing nutritional difficulties.

Patients are referred to Keynes via their GP, nurse or consultant. She sees both in and out patients and intends to develop the service to include drop-in clinics in the future.

Keynes said: "I am delighted to be appointed to this new position. Every patient is different and faces different issues with food and nutrition.

"As well as functional problems for certain patients, there can also be psychological issues affecting the way patients eat.

"My aim is to support patients in making the right choices about their nutrition as well as offering advice and information to patients, relatives and carers."
