Bowler Dunn suffers early exit

Betteshanger Bowling Club's Jamie Dunn fell at the first hurdle in his attempt to claim his first national title at the Champion of Champions finals in Hayling Island.

Dunn, who had battled through five rounds in qualifying to reach the last 16, met Darren Nutman from Dorchester in his opening game and was beaten 21-17.

However, the club have high hopes for this weekend when Arthur and Marc McCaughan travel to Northampton to compete in the national finals of the Father and Son competition. For father Arthur it will be his fifth appearance in what will be the last Father and Son competition.
