A Kent village has been handed two new sports facilities thanks to Ward Homes.
A gym and a boxing club have been built alongside the existing community centre off Paddlesworth Road in Snodland where Ward has just completed its new housing development, Pavilion Place.
“New developments are not just about providing much needed new homes; they also facilitate other community benefits which would not be possible without the contribution made by developers,” said Nick Fenton, managing director for Ward Homes.
David Philips, chairman and secretary of Snodland Boxing Club, said: “The club has been running since 1981. Until now though, we didn’t have a purpose-built boxing gym. The facilities here are fantastic and we have already gained a significant number of people attending sessions with over 50 people using the facilities on a weekly basis.”
New residents moving to Pavilion Place, which is made up of 44 new homes, will be able to benefit from these improved facilities.
Homes here offer a mix of open-plan layouts as well as separate kitchens and living rooms. All homes have a landscaped garden and many have a garage. A children’s play area and open spaces in the development make Pavilion Place ideal for families.
The location is good for commuters, with Snodland station only a two-minute walk from the development and trains into London taking just over an hour.
New homes available at Pavilion Place include three and four-bedroom houses with prices starting from £204,995, ready for Christmas.
