A 16-year-old schoolboy has been found dead on the promenade near the Port Ramsgate ferry terminal after an 80ft fall from the clifftop.

The teenager’s body was discovered on Sunday at about 5.30am by port authority security staff who alerted police.

Police believe he fell from the Westcliff and a spokeswoman said: “No other person was involved and the death is not regarded as suspicious."

The Thanet coroner has been informed and an inquest will be held.
