AN 11-year-old boy suffered serious leg injuries when he was struck by a bus in a town centre.

The accident happened shortly before 4pm yesterday in Leopold Street, Ramsgate, just off the main shopping area.

A police spokeswoman said the boy was taken to the Queen Mother hospital at Margate. She added: "His injuries are not thought to be life threatening."
