A nine-year-old Ashford boy died after suffering what is believed to have been a heart attack at his home.
The Kent Air Ambulance was called to an address in Hythe Road just after 10am on Boxing Day to reports of a cardiac arrest.
It was stood down en-route after the schoolboy passed away. Details have only just emerged.
An ambulance crew was also at the scene - parked at the Willesborough Esso petrol station.
Several police cars were also spotted outside the house, which a Kent Police spokesman said was normal practice in cases of sudden and unexpected death.
The death is not being investigated by the police.
Residents on their way to the post-Christmas sales who saw police tape and emergency service vehicles quickly took to Facebook to try and find out what was happening.
The boy's family said they did not wish to say anything following their sad loss.
It is understood the boy had an existing medical condition.
