An 11-year-old boy has been bailed pending a decision to prosecute following a suspicious fire that caused damage estimated at £30,000 at Laleham School in Margate on Sunday afternoon.

A portable classroom and its contents at the Northdown Park Road campus were completely destroyed by the blaze.

The boy, who was arrested on suspicion of arson on Sunday afternoon, is due to return to Margate police station today.
