GOLD and silver Black Sabbath discs stolen from the Kent home of the band’s former producer and manager have been recovered.

An anonymous tip-off led West Kent Police to the valuable hoard of commemorative discs, which had been dumped in plastic bags in recycling bins near the Longmead Stadium in Tonbridge.

They were stolen more than a month ago from a barn at the Edenbridge home of Patrick Meehan, who managed the world-famous heavy metal band when they were at their peak in the early 1970s.

The discs celebrated Mr Meehan’s involvement in the Sabbath albums Master of Reality, Paranoid and Volume Four - which all featured the notorious singer-turned- cult hero Ozzy Osbourne.

A total of one silver and seven gold discs were recovered from the bins on Tuesday, December 21. A further two had already been seized by police after they were advertised for sale on the Internet auction site Ebay.

A guitar taken in the raid on Mr Meehan’s home is still missing.
