Dover recorded their ninth win in 11 Blue Square Bet South away games on Tuesday night when they overcame promotion rivals Bromley 2-0 at Hayes Lane.
Whites responded to Saturday's disappointing 3-1 home defeat to Ebbsfleet with two goals in the final half-hour to close the gap on the play-off places to just two points.
Donovan Simmonds (pictured) put the visitors ahead just after the hour mark after Adam Birchall had controlled the ball down the right superbly and cut inside Jerrome Sobers before drilling the ball across the face of goal where Simmonds was able to turn into an unguarded net.
Keeper Ross Flitney kept Dover ahead with a smart save from Warren McBean and Sobers headed against the outside of the post from a corner before Dover doubled their lead 18-minutes from time when Birchall fed Simmonds who was felled in the box, but with Whites fans appealing for a penalty, the ball broke to Barry Cogan to curl into the top corner from the edge of the box.
Flitney prevented the hosts from reducing the deficit with two late saves while Birchall missed the chance to extend the lead in injury-time.
