Police have confirmed they are investigating reports of a brothel on Maidstone Road in Rochester - above the Labour Party's office.
The property was originally visited five days ago when a member of the public raised concerns.
Those present at the address were spoken to and warned that an investigation would take place.
They will again be visiting the property and will be seeking help from The News of the World in investigating the circumstances around it.
The News of the World published the story on Sunday, accompanied by a video on its website in which a woman in the flat is heard saying that full sex costs £50.
The office is in the Rochester East ward of Cllr Teresa Murray, also the prospective Labour parliamentary candidate for Rochester and Strood, whoe called in the police after being contacted by journalists on Saturday
She said: “The Labour Party bought the building several years ago and uses the office a few times a week.
“We do not own the flat upstairs. It was sold after we purchased the building and we do not know who the owner or the landlord is.
“We have seen nothing to suggest there is a brothel there. We have no reports of people complaining about prostitutes using it.
“In fact the entrance to the flat is round the back of the building. We only use the front and we have not seen anything illegal going on.
“I have been assured by police they will take prompt action and will be keeping an eye one the place.”
Bob Marshall-Andrews, Labour MP for Medway, uses the office for his constituency surgeries.
He said: “I’ve heard of no reports of this sort of thing going on there. Of course, we will be co-operating with the police over the issue.”
Mr Marshall-Andrews has already announced that he will not be standing at the next general election. The Medway seat has been re-named Rochester and Strood after boundary changes.
