A WOMAN who was woken by an intruder in her bedroom early today was told to "go back to sleep". The burglar then left the room and raced downstairs.

By the time the woman and her partner investigated he had gone. They found a window at the back of the house in Laleham Road, Margate, had been smashed.

A CD player and a wallet containing £40 and bankcards were taken in the break-in. A handbag and its contents were later recovered.
