Burnt-out lorry stolen on motorway

A STOLEN lorry was found burnt out in a Kent city. The driver of the Volvo lorry, which had a Belgian number plate, raised the alarm at 12.40am on Thursday.

The lorry was then discovered in Maidstone Road, Rochester, at 1.06am next to the Stirling Centre in Maidstone Road, after firefighters received reports of a lorry being on fire.

It took two fire crews, one from Medway and one from Strood, about an hour to deal with the blaze.

Police are investigating the incident.
