Michael Farrer said it was good to "get that winning feeling back" after Canterbury stopped the rot after four straight defeats with a convincing 3-0 victory at Hampstead in the National Premier Division.

The city club had lost four on the spin and six of seven games before the trip to the capital but victory kept them third in a tight division.

Farrer (pictured) said: "It was an important win because we needed the points.

"We worked hard in training on cutting out the individual errors which cost us in the defeat to Reading the week before and it made a difference."

With three games remaining, the city club are a point behind second-placed Reading, level on points with fourth-placed Cannock and a point ahead of fifth-placed Surbiton while Saturday’s visitors East Grinstead are four points behind in sixth.

Farrer said: "It’s going to be one of the biggest games of the season.

"If we could get a win it would probably put them out of it while we would probably only need one more win to make the play-offs.

"We feel like we are back to where we were earlier in the season. The buzz is back.

"We’ll focus on one game at a time and if we can play like we did on Sunday, then East Grinstead will have to play well to beat us."
