A 23-year-old motorist was treated in hospital after his Peugeot 205 crashed into a lamppost in Canterbury Road East, Ramsgate, on Monday evening.

Police say no other vehicle was involved and the driver was not seriously injured in the accident which happened at around 7.20pm.

Fire crews from Ramsgate were called to clean the road surface and make sure it was safe for other drivers.
