A DRIVER has been killed after his car left the road and overturned in a rush-hour crash.
The victim, who police say was a man in his early 20s and from Maidstone, was freed by firefighters and treated for serious injuries after the accident. He died later at Maidstone Hospital.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, which happened on the A249, between Detling and Stockbury, shortly after 8am on Friday.
The man had been travelling towards Sittingbourne when his silver Rover 25 left the road.
The slip road from the M20 junction 7 to the A249 was closed while emergency services attended the scene and has since been reopened.
The A249 itself was closed between Jade's Crossing and Scragged Oak Road, near the Kent showground.
The accident is now being investigated by the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU).
Anyone who saw the car before the accident is asked to contact the SCIU on 01622 98538.
