A passenger was seriously hurt when the car they were travelling in left a road in Kent and ended up in a ditch.

Police were called to the scene on the A21 between the Blue Boys roundabout and Pembury at around 5.10pm Saturday.

There were three people in the car - a silver Ford Ka - which rolled onto its roof.

One person suffered serious injuries and was taken to Kent and Sussex Hospital but later transferred to a London hospital.

The road was closed for around three hours after the incident.
