Festival goers are being given a money-saving incentive to keep things green as they head to one of the region’s biggest events next month.
This is the message from the organisers of the hotly anticipated Zoo Thousand music festival, who are offering free parking to car-sharers arriving at the event, staged at Port Lympne.
Any car with three or more people will be able to park for free at the site’s secure overflow car park - five minutes from the main gates - at Otterpool Lane, Lympne, saving them £10.
Demand for tickets for the event, from Friday to Sunday July 4 to 6, is continuing to grow, so the new car park site will definitely come in handy.
Festival director Matt Dice said: “With ticket sales continuing apace we don’t want any nasty car-parking surprises at the festival!
“After two years of planning we are in the home straight now and we want to make sure that people have all the correct travel information.
“Everyone should check www.zoothousand.com regularly in the build up to the festival for up-to-the-minute event and travel details.”
Car users should leave the M20 at Junction 11 and follow the signs for Port Lympne.
For those arriving by train, a shuttle bus will be operating from Westenhanger and Ashford International stations. The nearest is Westenhanger, just five minutes away.
Eventz Travel is operating a pre-booked coach service to the site, from across the UK. see www.eventztravel.co.uk or call 07779 232854.
