This is the sight that greeted the owner of a shop when he turned up for work this morning.
The woman driver of the silver Ford Focus estate is believed to have crashed into the front of LTR Supplies after she swerved to avoid a car coming out of Lynsted Lane, Teynham.
The damage was discovered by owner Colin Godden's son Liam when he arrived to open the family-run business, in London Road, at around 7.50am.
An officer from Swale council's building control department is currently assessing the damage to see if the building is safe.
Police officers are also at the scene and the road remains open to traffic.
Colin, who lives in Faversham, said: "My son called me. It must have happened about five minutes before he got there.
"The woman was out of the car, she was shaken but not injured.
"Apparently she swerved to miss a car coming out of the junction opposite the shop. She was on the main road when the car pulled out.
"We've been here 10 years and nothing like this has ever happened before.
"It's just one of those things, you take it in your stride.
"The shop might be out of action but we still have a website people can visit www.ltrsupplies.com"
