Caravan bursts into flames on A299 Thanet Way, Minster and closed the road while crews dealt with the blaze

A main road was forced to close after a caravan burst into flames.

The fire broke out on the A299 Thanet Way at the Minster roundabout at around 9.30pm yesterday.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service sent two fire engines to the scene and crews used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.

The road was closed between the Minster roundabout and the Monkton roundabout while emergency services dealt with the blaze.

A spokesman for the fire service said: “There were no reported injuries, and the cause is not yet known.”
