A family caravan was destroyed by fire - two days after a 14-year-old girl had been sleeping in it.
A brick was also thrown through a window at their home, in Cygnet Close, Larkfield, near Maidstone.
Police are treating the fire, which broke out at 11pm on Monday, January 5, as arson and have launched a witness appeal.
On the previous Saturday night Lisa Coster’s daughter, Shanelle, had used the caravan for a sleep-over.
Mother-of-six Miss Coster said: "I heard a loud cracking noise and a crash.
"I looked out of the window and the caravan was well alight. It must have gone up in seconds.
"If there had been anyone in the caravan they would not have stood a chance."
Tonbridge and Malling neighbourhood officer Insp Justin Watts said: "This fire could have had fatal consequences.
"We would like to hear from anyone with information, particularly about vehicles leaving Swallow Road around 11pm or people seen acting suspiciously around the same time."
A 22-year-old man was arrested by police on Tuesday, January 6, in connection with the incident. He was later released on police bail while inquiries continue.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 01732 379217 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. Information can also be emailed to appeals. westkent@kent.pnn.police.uk
