A CALLOUS carer who stole from an elderly client has been warned that she could face a jail sentence after admitting theft.
Jacqueline Anderson, 52, stole money from Albert Austin and his wife Ivy when she visited the elderly pair as a carer in June 2003.
She stole a total of £110 from the home and was only caught out when Mr Austin became suspicious and contacted police.
The police arrived and hatched a plot to trap Anderson, of St George's Walk, Rochester, on one of her visits.
They marked some £20 notes with invisible ink that would appear under ultra violet light and pounced when Anderson left the pensioners' home.
Anderson pleaded guilty to theft and was warned she could face jail when she is sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court in March.
Albert, 83, who now cares for his disabled wife Ivy, 86, at their home in Shepherd's Way, near Maidstone, said: "She robbed me several times and she deserves all she gets.
"This whole thing has been going on for about 19 months now and it's been terrible for my family.
"I have had a heart attack since the robberies and my general health has deteriorated and so has my wife's. But we are pleased that she's been stopped and she can no longer go on and rob any other vulnerable people.
"This has been a really hard time for us. But now I feel this is a huge weight off my shoulders."
Anderson pleaded guilty to the three thefts. The magistrates referred the case to crown court.
