The icy weather has caused accidents on roads across the area.

An icy black spot in a dip in a road in Pluckley has caused five incidents within the last few days, with two cars ending up in a river and one in a garden. On Wednesday a car ended up in a ditch in Kingsnorth and one skidded off the road in Biddenden.

The spate of accidents in Chambers Green Road, Pluckley, is raising safety concerns. It is thought that water gathers in a dip in the road and freezes.

Accidents thought to be caused by icy roads on yesterday (Wednesday).

At 8am a car spun in circles on Chambers Green Road, Pluckley.

At 8.30am, a car skidded off the road and into a garden on Chambers Green Road, Pluckley.

At 10am, in Long Length, Kingsnorth, a car skidded into a ditch and a van which stopped to help skidded and turned over. Both drivers were shaken but uninjured.

One man was taken to the William Harvey Hospital as a precaution. The road was closed until lunchtime.

Less than an hour later in Frittenden Road, Biddenden, a skidded off the road damaging a fence. The woman driver was not injured.

At 2.30pm a car ended up in a river in Chambers Green Road, Pluckley. The woman driver was initially trapped but managed to get out. She was cold, wet and badly shaken but uninjured.
