Brazen thieves swiped a stand-alone cash machine from outside a petrol station.

Police are investigating after the machine was stolen from the Sandhurst Jet Service station on the A268 at around 11.20pm last night.

Shocked staff described being confronted by "a mess" when they turned up for work today.

Police are poring over CCTV footage, and say "inquiries are ongoing".
