POLICE are hunting a suspected armed robber after money was stolen from a Kent shop.
A man is believed to have entered the Co-op in Luton Road, Chatham, between 7pm and 7.10pm on Tuesday and threatened a cashier with what appeared to be a gun.
He then demanded money and left after being handed a quantity of cash.
The suspect is described as being a male, wearing a brown hooded top with the hood up and drawstrings pulled tightly around his face and a cream scarf partially covering his face.
He wore black gloves and black tracksuit bottoms with two stripes down the sides and very clean white trainers.
Detective Sergeant Terry Easterby said: ‘We believe that after committing the robbery the suspect ran in the direction of the William Hill bookmakers.
“No one was injured in the incident and we are following a number of lines of investigation.”
