A CAT died when fire swept through the kitchen of a house.

Members of the Kent Fire and Rescue Service say the occupants of the house, situated in Sevenoaks Road, Borough Green, escaped from the blaze which started at about 7.15am on Wednedday.

Firefighters from Borough Green and Seal attended. The blaze was confined to the ground floor of the property.
