POLICE are searching for a man and a woman in connection with an attack which left a member of staff at a Kent railway station needing stitches to a facial injury.
These CCTV images have been released by British Transport Police in a bid to identify the offenders.
According to police, the victim was approached by the pair at Gillingham railway station.
They were verbally abusive before punching the staff member in the face. The victim suffered a cut above his eye that required 10 stitches and bruising to his nose.
The woman (top image) is described as having short dark hair and a light-coloured shirt and dark trousers.
The man (bottom image) was heavy-set and wearing a black shirt, white jacket and a baseball cap.
Anyone with information about this incident, which happened at around 10.45pm on Monday, September 3, is urged to contact police on 0207 391 5275.
The appeal comes as the British Transport Police embarks on a two-month campaign to crackdown on passengers who physically assault or spit at rail staff.
The usual pan-London initiative - Operation Lockstock - targeting staff assaults has been expanded in the south to take in major rail hubs in Kent and other parts of the South East.
