A MAN suspected of stealing money from ticket machines at several railway stations across Kent is being sought by police.
Det Con Michael Stephenson of the British Transport Police said the man had struck six times in as many weeks, either stealing or attempting to take cash boxes from that station's equipment.
He said: "This man is a prolific thief and we are hoping that members of the public may be able to help us identify him.
"We believe the same man is responsible for several attempted thefts and actual thefts of takings from ticket machines at stations since December 31.
"CCTV has provided us with some very clear images of a male we would like to identify in relation to these crimes, which have all occurred between midnight and 4am."
The first incident involved an attempted theft at Chelsford booking office on New Years Eve, followed by the theft of several cash boxes at Petts Wood on January 14.
Since then he has struck at Chislehurst, Grove Park and Elmstead Woods railway stations.
