These pictures of Medway Council’s CCTV parking patrol were taken during Friday’s early school run by reader Bill Khan.
They show the mobile snooper van, introduced last month, parked on double yellow lines outside Byron Primary School in Byron Road, Gillingham at about 8.50am.
It isn’t the first time the team have courted controversy on their crusade to combat problem parking.
The Council has previously defended its double yellow stop-offs saying enforcement vehicles are allowed to park in restricted areas while staff carry out their work and then only in extreme circumstances.
But Mr Khan, whose five-year old son attends the school, said this policy is only serving to build resentment.
He said:“If anybody else had parked in this way they would have received a ticket.
"It is a good idea that they are clamping down on bad parking, but they should be setting an example by not breaking the rules themselves.”
