Celebrity MP Lembit Opik is coming to Shepway next month.

The MP, whose relationships with weather girl Sian Lloyd and Cheeky Girl Gabriela Irimia have hit the headlines, will be the guest speaker at the Shepway Liberal Democrat presidents dinner.

He is one of the Lib Dem’s best known MPs and is a candidate for the president of the party.

The MP was invited by the Shepway Lib Dem president Mary Done. The dinner will be at Etchinghill village hall on Saturday, December 6.

Lib Dem members and supporters have been invited.

Cllr Lynne Beaumont, leader of the Lib Dem group in Shepway, said: “The year before last our guest speaker was Nick Clegg. Lembit Opik was invited as he is great fun and a fantastic speaker. It could be an interesting evening.”
