Celebrity praises town's coffee culture

COFFEE fans can be notoriously fussy about their drinks, and making the perfect cup takes a lot of practice.

Luckily for one Whitstable couple their beverages proved up to scratch when one of the most hard to please experts visited.

chef Lloyd Grossman tested the brews from Howard and Annette Gordon’s coffee bike when in town last week and declared them absolutely delicious.

Howard, from Maydowns Road, Chestfield, said: “He said he had passed us the day before as we were packing up and decided to come back and try one of our coffees.

“He loved the idea of the coffee bike and was very complimentary about Whitstable and our coffee.

“He said when he returns to the town he will definitely pay us a visit.

“It was great to know he was impressed with us - and we told him we enjoyed using his sauces!”

The pair park their bike, which is fully equipped with a professional coffee machine, at Reeves beach when the weather is fine.
