SCOUTS young and old packed Rochester Cathedral to celebrate their organisation's 100th birthday.
More than 15 Scout, Explorer Scout, Cub and Beaver groups from across Medway joined in the service with past and present members of the scouting organisation.
Lt Col John White of the Parachute Regiment and Deputy Mayor of Medway Cllr Nick Bowler inspected the troops.
There was also music from the Maidstone Citadel Band of the Salvation Army.
At the end of the ceremony the guests were invited to renew their promises, in which they pledged to do their duty to God, the Queen and the Scout movement.
Graham Hancock, district commissioner of Scouting, said: "It is a very proud day for us. We are not only giving thanks for the past 100 years of scouting but are looking forward to the next 100 years."
