THE world’s biggest celebration of sport begins in Beijing on Friday with the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.
And when the curtain falls on the Games in two weeks’ time, it will be London’s turn to become the official Olympic host city.
Medway will join towns and cities across the country in celebrating the official handover on Sunday, August 24, by raising a special commemorative flag at Rochester Castle.
Medway’s own Olympic gold medallist, Paul Nihill, will also be there.
You now have the chance to join Paul. Medway Council, which is organising the castle event, is looking for someone to play a special part in its August 24 celebrations.
