Young midfielder Charlie Allen is loving life at Gillingham.
Allen arrived at the Gills in the summer as a player with potential but has already made 23 appearances for the club.
"I love it here and it’s the most favourite club I have been at," said the former Notts County and Dagenham player.
"The fanbase here is quality and everyone knows you can’t be top of the league and have bad team morale. Coming into training and to work every day is an absolute delight. It is quality.
"Even at the moment, where there might be players coming in and some going out during the transfer window, everyone’s spirits are still high.
"We believe we are going to go up and we will achieve what we set out at the start of the season. It is good to be part of that, especially at such a young age and hopefully it’s something I can recreate again at some stage of my career."
Allen was a free agent in the summer after his release by Notts County, where he had made just a handful of appearances.
This season, however, he has played a big part in helping Gills mount a challenge for the League 2 title.
"I have been happy with the games I have played and I am still only 20," he said. "Next season I turn 21 and hopefully I can carry on with starts and appearances to my name and carry on in the Gillingham shirt as well this season and help us achieve things."
