I wasn't at Tuesday night’s match against Rochdale because of a slight ankle injury I picked up against AFC Bournemouth at the weekend but from what I’ve heard, it sounded like we were unlucky to lose.
That might sound strange when you see the 2-0 scoreline but by all accounts, we were the better side on the night without proving it in the areas that count.
Two draws in the two games before the midweek match was certainly better from us, though.
It was good to stop that losing run but we are well aware that we need to start recording wins again and let’s hope that starts against Leyton Orient on Saturday.
Hopefully, I’ll be fit again for the game, although it remains to be seen whether that would be on the bench or starting.
Unfortunately, my ankle became a bit swollen at Bournemouth last weekend, but it had gone down a couple of days later.
If I don’t make Saturday, hopefully I’ll be ready for Tuesday’s game at Southampton.
Obviously, I’m on loan at Charlton but although results haven’t gone as well as we would have wanted them to, I’ve settled in OK.
The loan was initially for a month but hopefully it will be extended until the end of the season.
I want to see how far we can go as a team and, of course, it would be good to end the season well.
This is my fifth move away from West Ham United, after spells with West Bromwich Albion, Swindon Town, Swansea City and Barnsley.
It can be tough going to a new club but the switch to Charlton has been easier than the others because it’s much closer.
You always have to impress a new set of players but it’s something I’ve become accustomed to now.
I’m here to stamp my mark on the team and help myself out as well. It’s about blocking out all the negative stuff and focusing on what’s important, which is playing well and getting goals.
My first game, against Brentford, was difficult because I’d only signed for the club the previous day and hadn’t even had the chance to train with the lads.
Of course, the team isn’t as confident as it could be, which you’d expect after a run of bad form.
But it’s down to us to change that and all we can do is keep training well and working hard.
